WhistlePig The Béhôlden 21 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey

Tasting Notes / Description
WhistlePig The Béhôlden 21 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey is a pioneering North American single malt, distilled from 100% malted barley at Glenora Distillery in Nova Scotia, Canada. Aged for 21 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished for four weeks in WhistlePig rye casks, it is bottled at 46% ABV (92° proof). This expression is notable for being the first super-aged North American single malt, with only 18 barrels released in Spring 2023, making it a highly limited edition.
On the nose, it offers aromas of maple syrup, caramel, baked red apples, stone fruit, vanilla, and a hint of fresh-cut lumber. The palate is rich and creamy, featuring notes of maple syrup, caramel, vanilla, apricot, black cherry juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, mint, rye spice, and oak, reminiscent of apple pie and cinnamon raisin oatmeal cookies. The finish is medium in length, with lingering flavors of black cherry juice, clove, and a hint of tobacco.
